Boring Days
My life, like my posts, sometimes feel like I just live from one appointment to the next. I also seem to gauge things by health events. I go from flare to my normal unhealthy and on to a more acute situation.

That’s what has been happening to one of my molars. After a filling failed, the tooth was a lost cause. I’m finally having the oral surgeon extract it tomorrow. It’s near the sinus, so I’m just praying that there won’t be any complications. Thanks to Sjogren’s I’ve lost another tooth.
I’ve stocked up on jello, chicken broth, and pudding. I’m not sure how long I’ll need to avoid solid foods. I don’t want to do anything to cause another procedure. If the sinus is perforated, there could be more surgical procedures. These would also add $1700. to my bill.
I’m going to try harder to accept that a boring day has the same value as a day with a nerve-wracking appointment. It’s difficult for me to do that because the scary days are in my thoughts often. If I could block out the worry and dread, I believe that I could have many more enjoyable moments.
If I’m really challenging myself to be content, it means in all things. On the boring days I hope to be more content with days that I can’t control. I usually focus on the hardest days and how I can fully trust God because I’m in a crisis.
Even though I’ve tried to accept all of my chronic conditions, I know that there are times that I’m not content or accepting of boring days…..days in which I may dwell on how my disabilities are keeping me from doing the things I long to do.
I long to spend more time with my kids and grandkids. I want to clean everything in my house. I want to exercise. I don’t want to sit in my recliner all day. I want to walk without pain. I want. I want. I want.
Those are the types of things I think about on the boring days. I want God to help me be content and remind me during the times I feel discontent. People around me don’t see what I’m going through, but whether or not I’m having a pity party, I still want to improve.
If I can accept the boring days and let myself be content, I can praise God everyday and in everything. This is my goal.
