I Have Pain, But Love Celebrating Anyway
The snow and ice (mostly ice) are still hanging around. The yard and sidewalk are like an ice rink, but tomorrow it should warm up. Have you been freezing? Maybe you live somewhere that isn’t cold. We all have different weather and the extremes can affect us.

When all the snow and sleet fell I got headaches and annoying tightness in my neck. My buffalo hump was throbbing and I used my heating pad quite a bit. These weather changes seem to affect most people with chronic illness. Having an autoimmune disease, Ehlers Danlos, and scoliosis means that I have inflammation every day.
The severe flares of inflammation make it hard for me to ignore the neck pain. I have constant neck pain, but much of the time I can block it out of my mind. If I stop and focus on how it feels the pain feels electric and sharp. My head feels very heavy and hard to hold up. Because my neck has no curve, my head is pushed more forward. The buffalo hump keeps growing and I hope I can get it removed.
My broken tooth has quit hurting, for the most part. Tomorrow I see the oral surgeon and I know that he will be scheduling my tooth extraction. I know there will be a long time before my mouth stops hurting. I get TMJ when dentists keep my mouth open for awhile. But, it will pass with time. I hope to not lose anymore teeth for quite a while.
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

I like to look ahead to the special days on my calendar. Even though I don’t usually have a big event, it’s so enjoyable to have an excuse to have family over. This weekend we celebrate Valentine’s Day at home, with Hubby helping me cook a nice meal. Then, Sunday is looking like I’ll be able to have my grandchildren over for a Sunday meal. Our oldest also has a birthday and we’ll have a family birthday party.
Those days are wonderful! Having something to look forward to makes the slow, boring life of a chronic illness patient, better. Do you have plans for Valentine’s Day? When I was healthy, I had so much fun making Valentine’s Day cookies and treats with the kids. Sprinkles were everywhere!
I truly hope and pray that we all have some nice days. God bless.

I love when the family can get together for celebrations!
