Because of my infected tooth, I had to take 10 days of antibiotics. At the end of that time, I still had very sore sinuses above that tooth. I asked the dentist and he prescribed me another round of antibiotics. I know I need the medicine, but my gut is not happy. Then, I started probiotics during the first round and am continuing to take them.
I’m feeling a good bit better, but still have a little sore spot in my sinuses. I’ll give it a couple more days and then call my GP. With my ever-constant list of diseases/conditions it just makes sense that I can’t fight off infections easily. My immune system would rather attack my good parts and ignore the bad.
Tomorrow will be an interesting day. After seeing the neuro-opthamologist, she recommended that I get new glasses to bring my right eye up to 20/20. The glasses cost $500! She said that it could take care of my double vision. The first couple of days I thought it was a little better. But, since then, my eyes have become worse. Many times I can’t read. I put on my strong reading glasses and that helps a good bit. I hope that I won’t have to get a different pair.
The double vision seems to have a pattern. Most mornings it’s very mild, and my vision just seems blurry. Afternoons are bad and I can’t read in my regular progressive lenses. Evenings are the worse. Even when I use Restasis, it doesn’t do anything to clear my vision. I can see the letters above the letters and sometimes it’s so bad it just seems like a big messy pile of letters.
When I see my regular opthamologist I don’t know what he’ll say. He kept expecting my neuro-opthamologist to figure this out. I hope that my optic nerve will not be swollen this time. It has been for quite a while. It seems like the neuro doctor would have seen this before and have a diagnosis or treatment. I don’t want my vision to continue to get worse.

My dad was legally blind, but it was from a freak accident with a dead bird. I’m hoping and praying that someone will figure this out. It’s frightening to have vision that isn’t improving. I’ve been reading that Prism lenses can help stop double vision under certain circumstances.
In 2019, I had balance testing at physical therapy and they did a unique type of eye test. Videonystagmography used a set of video goggles to monitor the eyes. It helped the therapist to know if there is a diagnosis of vestibular disorder. The therapist adjusted the crystals in my inner ear and ordered balance therapy. It was going well but I moved away shortly after and lost this therapy. I’ll try to restart this soon.
I want to take the test results with me tomorrow when I visit the opthamologist. Maybe the way my eyes didn’t move together, could be a key to this double vision. I’ll be very interested in finding out.
Health problems are frustrating, but there’s always hope for improvement. Whether it’s better balance or better vision, I’ll be thankful for any good thing I can get. I pray that God will give me good things and He helps me to be content.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:9-13
